The Town of Manchester Selectboard, acting as the Boards of Sewer Commissioners, adopted an Ordinance at its meetings on September 26, 2017. The Ordinance is summarized below.

ADDENDUM C – Sewer Department Fee Schedule: This new Addendum C replaces the previously adopted Addendum C. The Addendum implements a fee schedule relative to the Sewer Department. The new Addendum C specifically increases the per gallon sewer fee from $0.0042 to $0.0043, and the quarterly from $81.06 to $83.50.

Pursuant to State law, citizens have the right to petition for a vote on the Ordinance at an annual or special meeting as provided in Title 24, chapter 59, section 1973. Unless a petition is filed in accordance with said section 1973, this Ordinance shall become effective 60 days after the date of its adoption. If a petition is filed in accordance with section 1973 of this title, the taking effect of the Ordinance shall be governed by section 1973(e) of Title 24.

UVM-UMass Amherst kick-off 2017 College Soccer Series on August 10

The battle between the Green Mountain State and the Bay State plays out on the soccer pitch when the University of Vermont Catamounts take on the University of Massachusetts Amherst Minutewomen in NCAA Division I women’s soccer on August 10 at 5:00 PM at Applejack Stadium in Manchester, Vermont. The game is part of the 2017 College Soccer Series hosted by the Town of Manchester. The Catamounts are looking revenge their 2-1 lost to the Minutewomen in 2016 at Applejack Stadium.

“The team is looking forward to coming to Manchester again for a pre-season game with UMass,” said Kristi Lefebvre, UVM head coach. “We had a great experience last year all around, and expect another exciting game this August. Though our teams are in the middle of their preseason training, it is a great test and nice environment for the new players to get acclimated to the team and the speed of the college game.”

The Susan G. Komen New England Affiliate, the Town of Manchester, and the Burr and Burton Academy, UVM and UMass Amherst women’s soccer teams are teaming up to beat breast cancer. The Komen New England Affiliate will be at the game. Fans will have an chance to buy a Halftime Challenge ticket. One lucky winner will have a chance at halftime to shoot for fifty percent of the Challenge proceeds. Also part of halftime, five lucky spectators will have the opportunity to shoot for a $25 gift card to The Northshire Bookstore and dinner for two at The Perfect Wife Tavern. The halftime celebration is sponsored by The Northshire Bookstore and The Perfect Wife Restaurant.

The Manchester College Soccer Series continues on Tuesday, August 22 when the Castleton State University women play Southern Vermont College at 7:00 PM, followed by the Castleton men vs. the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) on Saturday, August 26 at 6:00 PM. On Saturday, September 2 (Labor Day weekend), Middlebury College battles NESCAC rival Williams College at noon. The Series wraps up on Wednesday, September 6 at 7:00 PM when the Southern Vermont College women hosts Lyndon State College in Division III action.

Town of Manchester Announces 4th of July Celebration Schedule

MANCHESTER, VERMONT – The Town of Manchester announced today the schedule for its annual Fourth of July Celebration. All events will be held on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at the Dana L. Thompson Memorial Park (340 Recreation Park Road, Manchester Center, Vermont). The rain date for the fireworks display is Saturday, July 8, 2016.

The highlight of the day are the evening fireworks presentation that will begin at 9:30 PM. The Town is pleased to announce that additional parking will be available this year on the land owned by the Catholic Church along Bonnet Street (Route 30), which can be accessed from main park roadway. Parking services are being provided by the Boy Scouts, Troop 332 from Manchester, Vermont. Additional parking is available downtown, at Manchester Elementary Middle School, and at Riley Rink.

The designated viewing area this year is on McClellan Field and Eckhardt Field, the new fields just north of Applejack Stadium. The walking path to the south and east of Applejack Stadium will be closed to the public during the fireworks setup. Please note that BBQ grilling and dogs are not allowed on McClellan and Eckhardt Fields. Smoking is not permitted at the Dana L. Thompson Memorial Park.

The Town swimming pool will be open during the day from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM free of charge. The Misty Blues will entertain the crowd on McClellan Field before the fireworks from 5:15 PM to 8:45 PM. Also, Chief’s Concession Stand will be vending food and beverages from 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM. The menu includes summertime favorites such as hotdogs, hamburgers, french fries, drinks, fresh popped popcorn and ice cream treats.

2017 Manchester College Soccer Series Announced by Town of Manchester

The Town of Manchester announced today the line up for the 2017 College Soccer Series. All games will take place at Applejack Stadium, located at the Dana L. Thompson Memorial Park, 340 Recreation Park Road in Manchester Center, Vermont.

Admission to the games is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 18 and seniors over 65 years of age. Food and beverages are available at Chief’s Concession Stand, located in the northwest corner of the Stadium.

The College Soccer Series started in 2016 with four NCAA college soccer games. The 2017 features an expanded schedule with five games.

The Town of Manchester announced the 2017 Bank of Bennington Town Green Summer Concert Series line up for the summer of 2017. The Series runs from July 12 to August 16 on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 PM to about 8:00 PM in Manchester Center, Vermont at the Factory Point Town Green, located at the intersection of Depot Street (Route 11/30) and Main Street (Route 7A). The Series is generously sponsored by The Bank of Bennington.

Each year before July 1 the US EPA requires community water systems to deliver a Consumer Confidence Report, also known as an annual drinking water quality report, to their customers. These reports provide Americans information about their local drinking water quality.
