Parks and Recreation Committee

The Parks and Recreation Committee is responsible for advising the Selectboard, Town Manager and Parks and Recreation Department on all matters related to the administration, operation and maintenance of the Town-owned park system, which includes the Dana L. Thompson Memorial Park, the Factory Point Town Green and Adams Park.

The Committee normally meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 5:00 PM. Correspondence may be sent to: Parks and Recreation Committee, Town of Manchester, 6039 Main Street, Manchester Center, VT 05255 or by email to Amy Herrmann at a.herrmann@town.manchester.vt.us. For further information about the Committee or its meetings please call the Parks and Recreation Department at (802) 362-1439 or email Amy Herrmann. Committee members are appointed by the Selectboard to three year terms. The following citizens have been appointed to the Parks and Recreation Committee:

• David Quesnel, chair (term expires June 30, 2012)
• Andrew Shaw (term expires June 30, 2011)
• Alan Benoit (term expires June 30, 2010)
• Robert Johnson (term expires June 30, 2012)
• Michael Carter (term expires June 30, 2012)

The Selectboard appoints Burr and Burton Academy students from Manchester to Town boards and commissions. The following students are appointed to the Parks and Recreation Committee as voting members:

• Colby Halligan (term expires June 30, 2010)
• Richard Sui (term expires June 30, 2010)
